    1.Water Pollution Treatment and Control Technologies
    Researching is mainly in numerical simulation and optimal control technology of urban sewage treatment, Mechanism modeling of biological nitrogen and phosphate removal, Synchronous degradation of sludge and sewage in “Tubificidae-microorganisms” system, Applied treatment technologies of rural sewage, Catalysis and oxidation technology of refractory organic wastewater, biological treatment technologies of electroplating wastewater.

    Professors and main research fields: 
    Professor Sun Pei-de, Master Supervisors: Theory and Controlling Technologies of Sewage Biological Treatment, Environmental Engineering Simulation and Optimized Technologies, Optimized design and intelligent operation technologies in sewage treatment plant.

    Professor Guo Mao-xin,Master Supervisors: Waste water treatment and reusage technologies, Researches on “Tubificidae-sludge” reduction technologies and mechanisms.

    2.Membrane and Drinking Water Safety Technologies
    Viewing of the current status of China's drinking water safety and combing with the research staff's technical advantages, we do the research about the conducting of drinking water security assurance by membrane technology and grey Water reclamation and waste water utilization of new technologies, and for membrane technology in clean production, energy saving and emission reduction aspects of basic research and application. 

    Professors and main research fields:
    Professor Wu Li-guang, Master Supervisors: water resource security assurance and application in membrane technology
    Professorate Yan Bing: Environmental and ecological restoration, the application of water supply and drainage engineering.
    3.Wastes Disposal and Utilization Technologies
    Research on domestic waste disposal and utilization technologies, chemical industries hazardous waste disposal and utilization technologies, POPs disposal technologies, which are supported by environmental biological technology, advanced oxidation technology, environmental ecological technology, and new materials technology.
    Professors and main research fields:
    Professor Shen Dong-sheng, Doctor Supervisors: waste biological disposal theory and technology, applied environmental biotechnology, hazardous waste disposal and utilization technologies.
    4.Air Pollution Control Theories and Technologies
    The study focuses on common problems and key technology of industrial waste gas and indoor air pollution. The fine particulate matters, SO2, NOx, VOCs in exhaust gas are taken as objects researched and electrostatic technology, pulse power supply and biotical-strengthened technique are considered as various means. Control technology of particulate matter in exhaust gas emission, flue gas desulfurization/denitrification and VOCs treatment are mainly researched.

    5.Environmental Biological and Ecological Restoration Technologies
    With the application of biology technology, researches on environmental behaviour and ecotoxicology will be studied, especially studies on restoration theory and techniques of polluted water and soil, and environmental risk assessment. Solution of prominent environmental problems at present according to the actual situation of Zhe Jiang Province.
